HCS/HB 485 - Currently, the Seismic Safety Commission is comprised of two legislative members and fifteen other members with each member representing one of fifteen different professions. This act requires that no more than two members shall represent one of the enumerated professions and adds public education as one of the professional areas from which the membership may be chosen. Currently, a quorum shall consist of nine members. Under the act, a quorum shall consist of a majority of appointed members but not less than seven members and may be met by electronic attendance and non-voting participation of the staff of the legislative members.
This act is similar to SB 263 (2009).
