HCS/HB 1244 - Under current law, sales of over-the-counter or nonprescription drugs to individuals with disabilities are exempt from state and local sales and use tax. This act exempts sales of over-the-counter or nonprescription drugs prescribed by a practitioner and any medical equipment, supplies or devices provided to a person which are either ordered by a physician or paid for by a third party health insurer, Medicare, or Medicaid.JASON ZAMKUS
