SCS/HB 1444 - For any public meeting where a vote of the governing body is required on issues regarding a tax increase, eminent domain with respect to a retail development project, certain types of improvement or development districts, or tax increment financing, the governing body of such county, city, town or village must give at least four days notice before the entity may vote on such issues. Each such public meeting must include time for public comment. If proper notice is not given, no vote shall be taken until proper notice has been provided. Any legal challenge to the provisions of this section must be brought within thirty days of the subject meeting or such meeting shall be deemed to have been properly noticed and held. This act is similar to a provision contained in SCS/HCS/HB 316 (2009) and identical to HCS/SB 851 (2010). JIM ERTLE
