HB 557 - This act specifies that the liberty of a parent to direct the upbringing, education, and care of his or her child is a fundamental right and that the state shall not infringe on this right without a compelling governmental interest, a narrowly tailored law or policy, and by the least restrictive means necessary to achieve such interest.

This act is identical to SB 562 (2015).
