SCS/HCS/HB 752 - Currently, if a member of a public retirement plan is found guilty of certain felonies committed in direct connection with the member's duties as an employee then such member shall not be eligible to receive any retirement benefits from the respective plan. This act repeals provisions that provide that upon a finding of guilt, the court shall notify the appropriate retirement system in which the offender was a participant, and instead states that the employer of the member who is charged or found guilty of the felony shall notify the appropriate retirement system. The act also repeals the requirement that the court shall make a determination on the valued of money, property, or services involved in committing the offense. JESSI BAKER
