SS/SB 306 - This act modifies several provisions relating to education for dependents of members of the military. SCHOOL REGISTRATION This act allows remote registration of a student if one or both of the child's parents are being relocated to Missouri under military orders. Proof of residency shall not be required at the time of registration, but shall be required within 10 days of the student's attendance. This provision is identical to HB 365 (2019) and to a provision in HB 810 (2019). IN-STATE TUITION This act establishes that the determination of eligibility for in-state tuition rates at public institutions of higher education for dependents of military members stationed in Missouri shall be made at the time the dependent is accepted for admission. This provision is identical to HB 367 (2019) and to a provision in HB 810 (2019). KATIE O'BRIEN HA #1: CHANGES THE TITLE TO "EDUCATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY FAMILIES" HA #2: MODIFIES THE "MISSOURI RETURNING HEROES' EDUCATION ACT". THIS AMENDMENT IS IDENTICAL TO HCS/HB 400 (2019). HA #3: REMOVES THE SUNSET PROVISION FOR THE VETERAN'S SURVIVOR GRANT PROGRAM. THIS AMENDMENT IS IDENTICAL TO SB 283 (2019) AND HB 715 (2019).
