Current Bill Summary

SB 617 - Current law requires that if a health carrier initiates or changes the method used to reimburse a health care provider to a method that requires the provider to pay a fee or remit some other form of remuneration, the carrier shall notify the provider of the cost, provide clear instructions as to how to select an alternative payment method, and use that alternative method if requested by the provider. This act repeals these requirements.

This act is identical to HB 819 (2023).
