SB 361 - This act provides that fire protection districts serving in areas included within any annexation by a city located in a first or second class county shall continue to provide fire protection services to such areas. Additionally, the city shall pay to the fire protection district annually the amount the district would have levied on all taxable property within the annexed area. Finally, the residents in the annexed area may vote in all fire protection district elections and may serve on the board of the fire protection district. This act is identical to SB 1291 (2024).
