SB 229 - Under current law, funds may appropriated to the Clean Water Commission for storm water control in first class charter counties, Kansas City and St. Louis City. Currently, cities and counties must have approved storm water control plans to be elegible to receive these funds. Under the act, cities and counties with matching funds for such plans would also be eligible to receive funds, and any eligible city or county could receive funds for storm water control projects or plans. Funds received for plans shall be expended within two years or returned to the Commission.
The act raises the allowed fraction of the costs of any one
project which state storm water funds may cover from one-third to
eighty percent.
