SB 471 - This act changes the statutes regarding bicyclists on highways. Nighttime requirements for reflectors and lights are revised. Bicyclists need not ride to the far right side of the road in certain conditions, such as when traveling at the speed of traffic or when making a left turn. Bicyclists may ride abreast when not impeding traffic.
The act repeals the law requiring bicyclists to ride on a
path adjacent to a highway whenever such a path is available.
