SJR 16 - This resolution would submit a constitutional amendment which, if approved by Missouri voters, would allow the parent of any school age child in the state to choose any public, private or home schooling program for education of the child. The resolution provides that nothing in the Missouri Constitution or state law shall prohibit the General Assembly from enacting laws to provide this educational choice, including nondiscriminatory laws providing scholarship grants or tax credits for educational expenditures available to parents of school age children on a state wide or local basis.
This resolution is similar to SJR 17 from 1995.
