Senator Keaveny Appointed to Senate Interim Committee on Capital Improvement Assessment and Planning

JEFFERSON CITY — To help preserve and maintain the services and recreational outlets provided by the state of Missouri, Sen. Joe Keaveny, D-St. Louis, was appointed to the Senate Interim Committee on Capital Improvement Assessment and Planning.

Panel members are charged with gathering input on State Capital improvement needs, particularly the needs of state parks, mental health facilities, state buildings, and higher education facilities.

“This interim committee provides a great opportunity for my colleagues and I to sit down and determine the state services and programs most in need of our attention,” Sen. Keaveny said. “Missouri is a state filled with natural beauty and beneficial programs for all citizens, and it’s important to be proactive and always find ways to make our state a better place to live. We want Missouri to be a place in which people are proud to grow up, where people can have a high quality of life, and gain educational experiences and good service from state programs.”

The Senate Interim Committee on Capital Improvement Assessment and Planning will consist of seven senators: five representing the majority party and two representing the minority party. The committee report is due by Dec. 1, 2013.
