Senator Keaveny Encourages Constituents to Attend Free Health and Back-to-School Fair This Saturday

JEFFERSON CITY — This Saturday, July 20, Sen. Joe Keaveny, D-St. Louis, will host his annual health and back-to-school fair, which provides complementary services to the people of St. Louis City and county. The fair will take place at the Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers (5701 Delmar Blvd.) and last from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Senator Keaveny is happy to continue his collaboration with the Betty Jean Kerr People’s Health Centers in hosting this fair, which assists many low-income citizens who couldn’t otherwise afford quality health care services.

“Not only do we have a competitive job market that causes difficulty for some to find employment with health care benefits, but with mounting difficulties in our health care system, many of our most vulnerable citizens cannot afford quality services,” Sen. Keaveny said. “Nothing is more valuable than your health, so I encourage my constituents to take part in Saturday’s health fair and learn about how you can maintain or work towards good health.”

More than 40 organizations and businesses are scheduled to participate in the health fair, including Paraquad, 2000 Feet, Memory Care Home Solutions, St. Louis City Department of Health, March of Dimes, Sam’s Club, and Optical Expressions. Among services the vendors will provide include clinical breast exams, dental screenings, eye screenings for glaucoma, hearing tests, services for those with disabilities, help installing car seats, and free haircuts.
