JEFFERSON CITY — State Sen. Doug Libla, R-Poplar Bluff, considers the work of the Missouri Department of Conservation an important public service to the citizens of the Show-Me State. In an effort to stay up to date on the department’s events, Sen. Libla urges citizens in and around Carter County to attend an upcoming workshop hosted by Missouri Department of Conservation staff.
The Current River Outdoor Show, scheduled for March 9, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Van Buren Youth and Community Center (corner of D Hwy and Business 60), will feature updates on elk restoration, black bear research and feral hog eradication efforts.
Each year, the Department of Conservation hosts or participates in hundreds of habitat management workshops that focus on management techniques that benefit small game, turkey, deer, waterfowl and timber management.
“These forums provide citizens in the 25th District a great opportunity to talk one-on-one with staff members and ask important questions about conservation in Missouri,” said Sen. Libla. “Habitat and wildlife management are important factors in our state and have an impact on decisions made on local, state and national levels.”
