Jefferson City – State Sen. Shalonn “Kiki” Curls, D-Kansas City, will join members and staff of the Police Athletic League of Kansas City (PAL), representatives of GTECH, the Missouri Lottery, and other distinguished guests at the official unveiling of a new $16,000 computer lab for area youth on Friday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m.
The new lab, donated by GTECH in partnership with the Missouri Lottery, will allow PAL to provide local youth with essential computer literacy skills and assistance during after-school hours. The lab features 15 desktop computers, a smart board, a printer, chairs, Microsoft Office software, assorted educational software, and room decor.
Those in attendance will include Sen. Curls; Missouri Lottery Executive Director May Scheve Reardon; Kansas City Chief of Police Darryl Forte, and Police Athletic League of Kansas City Board President Christine Lentz, as well as staff and members of PAL for the grand opening. A tour of the technology lab to see the youth in action will follow the short speaking program.
