March Robot Madness VIP Tour in Kansas City
Known as the “varsity” sport for the mind, the Greater Kansas City FIRST Robotics Competition features more than 1,100 high school students, representing 54 teams from around the Kansas City area and beyond. Over the course of six weeks, each team works with area mentors to design and build a robot that can solve problems and perform specific tasks set forth by the competition’s rules.
The annual event is one of the Midwest’s largest robotics tournaments and was created to help students discover the skills and education they need to pursue STEM-based careers, or careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
What better way to see the impressive work of these bright and talented students than to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the competition, led by one of the actual students? Your VIP tour also includes a chance to see the FIRST Tech Challenge, FIRST LEGO League and JR. FIRST LEGO League team exhibitions.
The event will be held at the MCC-Business and Technology Campus. VIP tours are available Friday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to Noon and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and Saturday, March 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
