Honoring Missouri State
Employee Appreciation Week

This week (June 8 – 12) we take the time to celebrate Missouri’s state employees, and thank them for all the hard work and dedication they have devoted to our state. Whereas all of our working citizens play a vital role in our state’s livelihood, this week we recognize Missouri’s employees in efforts to inform its citizens of the vast majority of services provided by state employees.

Every year we set aside a week in order to show appreciation for the more than 50,000 state employees who ensure our government and state runs smoothly. Just over 4,000 state employees live in the 10th Senatorial District, and many of them are highly involved in local communities, programs that improve citizen’s quality of life and work that improves customer service.

Many of us are unaware of the immense scope of services Missouri’s employees provide for our great state. From the safety of our children and roadways to the future of our agriculture and education systems, even to preserving the beauty of Missouri, state employees commit much of their time to the betterment of this state, and I am grateful for their time and dedication.

I am proud to recognize these incredible state employees who dedicate so much of their time to the continued success of our state. The impact our public servants have on our daily lives is far too often overlooked. This week serves as a reminder of how every employee’s dedication helps to fulfill the mission of each of our state’s agencies, and a celebration of the pride they take in their work.

Sometimes it is the actions of others you don’t see that can impact your lives the most. Thank you to all state employees and their dedication to moving Missouri forward and keeping it a place I am proud to call my home.
