Senate Concludes Special Session with Sine Die Motion
Full Senate Scheduled to Return Jan. 4, 2012

JEFFERSON CITY — With a strike of the gavel, the First Extraordinary Session of the 96th General Assembly came to a close in the Missouri Senate Tuesday afternoon (10-25). Before Senate Leader Robert N. Mayer, R-Dexter, announced the sine die motion, legislators were able to deliver to the governor a measure that addresses how public school students and employees communicate online (Senate Bill 1) , as well as legislation designed to create, attract and retain jobs in the field of science in innovation through the Missouri Science and Innovation Reinvestment Act, or MOSIRA (Senate Bill 7). The governor signed both SB 1 and SB 7 Friday afternoon (10-21), and both measures will take effect 90 days after adjournment of special session.

The General Assembly is scheduled to return to Jefferson City for the Second Regular Session of the 96th General Assembly at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012.
