Current Bill Summary

SB 1009 - Under current law, Kansas City and St. Louis have the ability to develop geographic information systems and the ability to charge for the use of the information. Geographic information systems link maps with other data about an area (population, land use, etc.). This act extends that authority to Springfield and first classification non-charter counties (Greene, Jasper, Camden, Cole, Boone, Jefferson, Franklin, Cape Girardeau, Cass, Clay, Platte and Buchanan).

A similar provision appears in CCS/SCS/HS/HB 1238 (TAT).
