SB 707 - This act specifies that a person commits the crime of second degree assault of a law enforcement officer by knowingly attempting to take a deadly weapon from a law enforcement officer by means of force.

The act also creates the crime of evading a law enforcement officer for taking deliberate actions to avoid being stopped by a peace office while operating a motor vehicle. Evading a peace officer is a Class C felony if the purpose of the evasion is to avoid a felony arrest, or if physical injury results to another person, the person has been previously convicted of the crime of evasion, or is intoxicated at the time of the crime. Evading a peace officer is a Class A misdemeanor if the purpose is to avoid misdemeanor arrest.
