SB 709 - This act establishes a permanent memorial for Missouri workers killed on the job.
The memorial would be located on the Capitol grounds. A "Workers Memorial Committee" is created to organize a competition and to select the design of the workers memorial. The committee shall be made up of a member of the House of Representatives, a member of the Senate, and the members of the Board of Public Buildings (the Governor, Attorney General and Lieutenant Governor), or their designees. A "Workers Memorial Fund" is also created.
This act is similar to HB 1428 (2000).
