SB 751 - This act provides paid leave to new parents parents following the birth or adoption of a child. The act would be known as "The Birth and Adoption Unemployment Compensation Program".
Under this act, any new parent (by birth or adoption) is eligible for up to twelve weeks compensable leave during the child's first year of birth or adoption. Compensation benefits would be paid as unemployment benefits.
The bill becomes effective upon the adoption of federal
rules implementing a similar federal proposal.
