AN ACT
To amend chapter 334, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to patients' rights.
Section A. Chapter 334, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 334.280, to read as follows:
334.280. 1. This section shall be known and may be cited as the "Patient Protection Act of 2000".
2. When referring patients to other health care providers, as defined in section 538.205, RSMo, any referring physician must disclose to such patient, specifically and in writing of any affiliation, common employer or employers, or financial interest the referring physician might have with the health care provider to which the patient is being referred.
3. If a physician fails to provide the information required in subsection 2 of this section, then a patient may report the physician to the state board of registration for the healing arts.
