HB 1499 -- LIQUOR LICENSES (Hoppe) This bill allows persons licensed to sell malt liquor at retail by the drink to also sell nonintoxicating beer (3.2%) by the drink. This allows licensees the option of selling 3.2% or 5% beer 7 days a week. The fee for the license is $25. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
HB 1499 -- LIQUOR LICENSES SPONSOR: Hoppe COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 19 to 0 with 1 present. This bill allows persons licensed to sell malt liquor at retail by the drink to also sell nonintoxicating beer (3.2%) by the drink. This allows licensees the option of selling 3.2% or 5% beer 7 days a week. The fee for the license is $25. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this will save small retailers from obtaining 2 licenses for serving 3.2% and 5% beer.
