SCS HB 1604 -- CONVEYANCES OF PROPERTY This bill conveys state property in St. Francois, Audrain, Greene, Vernon, and Buchanan counties. The bill authorizes the Governor to convey: (1) Property located in St. Francois County to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission; (2) Property belonging to the Missouri Veterans Home located in Audrain County to the Mexico Optimist Club. This provision contains a reversionary clause; (3) Property utilized by the Nevada Habilitation Center to the Nevada R-V School District; and (4) Three tracts of land used by the Department of Public Safety and a tract of land used by the Department of Mental Health to the City of St. Joseph. The bill also authorizes the Board of Governors of Southwest Missouri State University to convey 2 tracts of land on the campus of the university to the City of Springfield. The Board of Regents of Missouri Western State College is authorized to convey 2 tracts to the Highways and Transportation Commission. The bill has an emergency clause for the conveyances in Buchanan County.

HB 1604 -- CONVEYANCE IN ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY SPONSOR: Graham (106) COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Correctional and State Institutions by a vote of 15 to 0. This bill allows the Governor to convey certain property to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill just gives the Missouri Department of Transportation clear title to this property. The property is currently the site of a highway maintenance facility.
