audits performed on such entities.
FISCAL NOTE: Savings to General Revenue Fund of $30,000 in FY
2001, $3,000 in FY 2002, and $3,000 in FY 2003.

This bill allows the State Treasurer to withhold moneys due to

transfer the moneys to the State Auditor to pay for the cost of
audits performed on such entities.
FISCAL NOTE: Savings to General Revenue Fund of $30,000 in FY
2001, $3,000 in FY 2002, and $3,000 in FY 2003.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that this bill would allow the State
Auditor to recover delinquent fees from political subdivisions,
municipalities, and public bodies when petitioned to do an
audit. Currently, there are approximately $100,000 in
delinquent audit fees.
Testifying for the bill were Representative Franklin; and Office
of the State Auditor.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
