COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Federal-State Relations and Veterans Affairs by a vote of 12
to 0.
This bill requires members of the Missouri National Guard to
exhaust all available federal Department of Defense educational
assistance funds before applying for Missouri National Guard
scholarship assistance. The bill also expands the number of
educational institutions a member of the National Guard is
eligible to attend.
FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds.
PROPONENTS: Supporters say that state funds are being used
before federal funds. If the state doesn't use the federal
funds, it loses them.
Testifying for the bill were Representative Ransdall; and
Missouri National Guard.
OPPONENTS: There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
