SB 202 - This act would repeal the current Missouri statutes relating to athlete agents contained in Sections 436.200 to 436.212, RSMo. The act would enact the provisions of the Uniform Athlete Agents Act which would require all athlete agents to register with the Secretary of State.
The act provides reasons for which the Secretary of State
may reject an application or suspend, revoke or refuse to renew a
registration of an athlete agent. Warning language to the
student-athlete must be contained in all agency contracts and
student-athletes are required to notify their athletic director
of the existence of any agency contract. Circumstances under
which the student-athlete may cancel the agency contract are
contained in the act.
