Sen. Klindt was elected to his first term by a special election in 2001.
In addition to his legislative duties, Sen. Klindt is also a farmer, rancher and co-owner of a software company. Formerly, he worked as an insurance agent for the Farm Bureau and as a computer software consultant.
Sen. Klindt is a member of the First Baptist Church. He is also a member of the National Red Angus Association, Missouri Soybean Association, Missouri Cattlemen's Association and the National Rifle Association.
He has been recognized several times by the Red Angus Association of America with the Distinguished Service Award, Personality of the Year Award and the Meritorious and Dedicated Service Award.
Sen. Klindt graduated from South Harrison High School in 1968. Born June 9, 1950 in Bethany, Sen. Klindt currently resides there with his wife Sandra. They have three children, Ronda, Randy and Ryan.
