AN ACT
To repeal section 105.520, RSMo, relating to collective bargaining, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the same subject.
Section A. Section 105.520, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 105.520, to read as follows:
105.520. 1. Whenever such proposals are presented by the exclusive bargaining representative to a public body, the public body or its designated representative or representatives shall meet, confer and discuss such proposals relative to salaries and other conditions of employment of the employees of the public body with the labor organization which is the exclusive bargaining representative of its employees in a unit appropriate. Upon the completion of discussions, the results shall be reduced to writing and be presented to the appropriate administrative, legislative or other governing body in the form of an ordinance, resolution, bill or other form required for adoption, modification or rejection.
2. The governor or the director of the office of administration shall recognize the validity of a bargaining unit upon approval by a majority of the employees eligible to vote in the unit pursuant to an appropriately conducted election.
