AN ACT
To repeal section 488.610, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to court costs.
Section A. Section 488.610, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 488.610, to read as follows:
488.610. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, no victim of the crime of domestic assault, no victim of the crime of stalking, and no victim, as defined in section 595.010, RSMo, shall be required to pay the costs associated with the filing of criminal charges against the offender, or the costs associated with the filing, issuance, registration, or service of a warrant, protection order, petition for protection order, or witness subpoena [associated with a domestic violence offense].
