AN ACT

To repeal section 70.300, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to the filing of written contracts where one of the parties is a political subdivision.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Section 70.300, RSMo, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 70.300, to read as follows:

70.300. Whenever the contracting party is a political subdivision of this state, the execution of all contracts shall be authorized by a majority vote of the members of the governing body. Each contract shall be in writing and a copy filed in the office of the secretary of state and in the office of the recorder of deeds in the county in which each contracting municipality or political subdivision is situated, except whenever such contract involves multiple municipalities or political subdivisions located in three or more counties, then a copy of the written contract shall be filed only in the office of the secretary of state.
