"Councilman Goldberg has donated countless hours to the Maryland Heights community, and his contributions will be greatly missed," said Loudon. "As a council member, he happily served on numerous committees and was President Pro Tem of the Maryland Heights City Council in 1994, 1997, and 2000.
Elected to the council in 1989, Goldberg served as a member of the Community Development and Neighborhood Preservation Committee, Community and Public Relations Committee, Public Safety and Health Committee, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Public Improvements Committee, Finance Committee, and the Administration and Risk Management Committee.
A Maryland Heights resident for 30 years, Goldberg has operated Consulting Firm for more than 20 years. He holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Washington University and in Business Administration from Lindenwood University.
The resolution notes: "The members of the Missouri Senate, 92nd General Assembly, unanimously join in expressing our utmost appreciation to Richard Goldberg for his 14 years of unparalleled service to the Maryland Heights City Council and to the citizenry of Maryland Heights, and in wishing him the long, rewarding, and relaxing retirement he so richly deserves."
