SCR 11 - This resolution directs the Department of Health and Senior Services, in conjunction with the Department of Insurance and any teaching hospital under the control of public universities in this state, to evaluate the establishment of a "Comprehensive Patient Education and Healthcare Cost Improvement Pilot Program". The Pilot Program shall be subject to appropriations and implemented six months after funding is made available if the Department has concluded the Program is beneficial. The Pilot Program will develop and incorporate educational programs into the preoperative consultation and informed consent process, including the value of second opinions. LORIE TOWE
