Current Bill Summary

SB 1244 - The act extends the statute of limitations for sexual offenses from ten to twenty years after the victim reaches the age of eighteen.

The act adds the crime of promoting child pornography to the list of crimes for which an individual must register as a sexual offender. It also requires individuals convicted of sexual offenses in a foreign country or in a military jurisdiction to register as sexual offenders.

The act is identical to HB 1287 (2004) and similar to provisions in CCS/SS/HCS/HB 1055 (2004) which was truly agreed to and finally passed.
