SJR 48 - The act proposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting the General Assembly from passing a law that is identical or substantially similar in effect to any law or constitutional amendment that has been previously put to a vote of the people of this state and rejected by the people.

The constitutional amendment would not prohibit the passing of a law that is identical or substantially similar to the one rejected by the people if, after the vote of the people rejecting the law or amendment, the law or amendment was put to a subsequent vote of the people of this state and was approved by the people.
