Born January 23, 1949, in St. Louis. Graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia (B.S., education); certified to teach history and economics; has master's degrees in education, counseling and public administration; graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law (J.D., 1989).
He and his wife, Nancy Sublette, have two children: Daniel and Jessica. He is a former executive director of an adolescent treatment center in Columbia.
Member: Children's Trust Fund, 1984-1988; Columbia Board of Education, 1981-1983; Missouri Bar, 1989-1995. He served in the House of Representatives from 1982-1996.
