Biography for Senator Gross

Senator Gross is Vice President of Business Development for UMB bank. His responsibilities include developing/strengthening commercial, private banking and trust relationships primarily within St. Charles County.

He is also currently serving in the Missouri Senate, and was elected in November, 2000. He serves on the following Senate committees: Vice Chair of Appropriations; Vice Chair of Financial and Governmental Organization, Veterans' Affairs and Elections; Vice Chair of Pensions and General Laws; Commerce and the Environment as well as Government Accountability and Fiscal Oversight. He is also serving on the Joint Committee on Legislative Research; the Joint Committee on Terrorism, Bioterrorism and Homeland Security; the Joint Committee on Capital Improvements and Leases Oversight and is the Chairman of both the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules and the Joint Committee on Public Employee Retirement. Senator Gross is also a member of the Missouri Tourism Commission.

Senator Gross was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in November, 1992. He was reelected in 1994, 1996 and 1998, and served on the Budget, Appropriations-General Administration and Transportation; Municipal Corporations; Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Affairs; and Utilities Regulation Committees.

He is a 1976 graduate of St. Charles High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. In 1982, he received his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Senator Gross is a licensed real estate appraiser and owned a small appraisal firm in St. Charles.

Senator Gross's community involvement includes being a board member of Youth-in-Need; Bridgeway Counseling; Volunteers in Medicine Clinic; St. Charles Regional Child Assessment Center; The Foundry Art Centre and the Lewis and Clark Center. In addition, he serves on the Steering Committee of Healthy Communities St. Charles County and is on the Executive Committee for the 2003 American Heart Walk.

He is listed in Who's Who in America from 1996 to the present and is the recipient of several awards including the Lewis and Clark Statesman Award from the RCGA, the "Heroes" Award from the Crider Center for Mental Health, the Missouri Christian Coalition Award for his work in the legislature and the Legacy Award from Community Living.

Senator Chuck Gross was born on August 20, 1958, in St. Charles, Missouri. He is married to Leslie Ann (Goralczyk) Gross. They have two daughters, Megan and Madelynn.
