HCS/SCS/SB 945 & SBs 803 & 1257 - This act regards school-age children.

SECTION 160.261 - This section asserts that, should a student be expelled for bringing a weapon to school, violent behavior, or for an act of school violence, that student shall not, for the purposes of the accreditation process of the Missouri school improvement plan, be considered a drop-out or be included in the calculation of that district's educational persistence ratio.

SECTION 170.037 - This section directs the State Board of Education to provide any assistance needed to school districts in adopting service-learning programs and projects. Service learning may be included as part of any course contributing to the satisfaction of credits necessary for high school graduation and also as an instructional strategy at any grade level to address appropriate areas of current state educational standards.

SECTION 210.145 - The Division of Family Services cannot meet with a child in the same school or child care facility where abuse is alleged to have occurred. Currently, the division cannot meet with a child at any school or child care facility.

Further, the section grants the juvenile court concurrent jurisdiction with the municipal court regarding municipal curfew ordinances. This section contains an emergency clause.
