SB 112 - This act formulates a procedure for recalling school board members. Upon a petition signed by at least 25% of the number voting in the last school board election, a recall election will be held. The act specifies the requirements for the filing, format, and verification of the petition. If a majority votes to retain the recalled member, the member remains in office and cannot be subject to another recall during his or her term. If the member is recalled, a successor will be chosen in the same manner as vacancies are filled for any 7-member district.
This act is similar to SB 922 (2004).
