SB 1237 - This act authorizes the Kansas City municipal government to authorize an additional surcharge on cases involving municipal ordinance violations, not to exceed two dollars, when the defendant pleads guilty or is found guilty.

The surcharge shall be collected by the clerk and disbursed to the municipality to pay for professional development of animal control staff, tactical equipment for animal control staff, capital improvements for animal control facilities, improving emergency response capability and establishing surge capacity (the ability to rapidly mobilize to meet an increased demand) for threats to public safety and health.
