On December 21, 2005, Senate President Pro Tem Michael Gibbons formed this special senate committee to investigate Medicaid fraud.

The committee is charged with the task of conducting hearings for the purpose of examining the issue of Medicaid fraud in Missouri, particularly as it may involve fraud by providers of Medicaid services, and to inquire into the nature and extent of the same. Further, the committee will issue to the General Assembly a report of findings and proposed recommendation of actions to address this issue.
