SCS/SB 122 - This act establishes the Missouri Universal Health Assurance Commission to study the possible implementation of a universal health assurance program. The purpose of the program is to provide a publicly financed, statewide program that will provide comprehensive health care services for Missouri residents. The Commission will be composed of a 25-member board of governors, of whom 16 members will be appointed by the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The directors of the departments of Social Services, Health and Senior Services, and Mental Health will be ex-officio members; and the board will include representation of minority and disabled individuals.
