SCS/SB 100 - Beginning January 1, 2008, this act requires health carriers to provide a report of the total number and dollar amount of claims paid in the previous three years within 30 days of an employer's request. When an employer has multiple plans, the total dollar amounts must be aggregated into one report. The information provided to the employer shall be furnished in a manner that does not individually identify any employee or other person covered by the health benefit plan and shall comply with all applicable federal and state privacy laws regarding the disclosure of health records. The act defines employer as one who employs at least 51 employees at the time of the request or at the start of the reporting period and has been insured continuously with the carrier for at least the preceding 22 months. This act is identical to HB 791 (2007).
