HB 1419 - This act modifies the law relating to licensed massage therapists. All licensed massage therapists shall be of good moral character and have completed a program of massage therapy studies. Certain allowances for those with out-of-state licenses and alternative experience are removed. Prospective licensees without the required 500 hours of supervised instruction may submit an application for licensure and the Board of Therapeutic Massage shall establish requirements to do so.
Applicants for provisional licenses shall submit proof that they have applied to take the required examination. Provisional licenses are valid for one year and may be extended for good cause at the discretion of the board if the extension is submitted prior to the expiration of the provisional license.
