HCS/HB 2250 - This act creates the "Show-Me Green Tax Holiday Act." In the year 2008, during the seven day period beginning the first Friday in November through the following Thursday, the first $1,500 paid toward certain new energy efficient products will be exempt from state sales tax. In 2009 and every year thereafter, the tax holiday will occur during the seven day period beginning on April 19th and ending April 25th. The eligible products include certain residential appliances, ceiling fans, and light bulbs that meet or exceed the requirements of the federal government's Energy Star program. Political subdivisions may opt out of the sales tax holiday at their choosing.

The act exempts from state sales tax any product with a retail price of $600 or less that is purchased between June 27, 2008 and June 29, 2008.

The act contains an emergency clause.
