Senate Committee Substitute

SCS/HB 1946 - Under this act, the requirements regarding adoption subsidies that are granted to adoptive parents were modified. There will no longer be income restrictions on household incomes higher than 200% of the federal poverty level for subsidies that cover any physical or mental conditions of the adopted child. The one-year restriction on the granting of a subsidy is also repealed.

In addition, certain neighborhood youth development programs shall be exempt from state child care licensing requirements so long as the program meets specified standards and guidelines as prescribed in the act. This provision is similar to a provision in SS/SCS/SB 726 (2008).
