HCS/HB 667 - Currently, any sheriff, except the sheriff of St. Louis County, must hold a valid peace officer license except during the first 12 months of his or her first term of office if he or she is eligible and intends to become licensed. This act removes the 12-month grace period exception and makes such requirement to hold a valid license applicable only until August 28, 2009. SUSAN HENDERSON MOORE
