HCS/HB 752 - This act eliminates the position of the Transportation Inspector General contained within the Joint Committee on Transportation Oversight.

Under current law, two members of the Highways and Transportation Commission, one from each political party, who have the most seniority in commission service serve as commission leadership with one as chair and the other as vice chair for a period of one year. At the end of the year, the chair and vice chair rotate. Commission leadership continues to rotate accordingly with the two members from opposing political parties who have the most seniority in terms of commission service being elected by the commission to serve as commission leadership. This act provides that beginning March 1, 2010, the commission will annually elect the two members for chair and vice chair. The provision for rotating commission leadership based upon seniority is repealed.

Provisions of this act are similar to SB 31 (2009).
