- On September 8, Dorothy Lee Wilkinson of Cuba was presented with a Senate Resolution in honor of her 100th birthday. During her 100 years, Wilkinson has been a housewife, Cuba Shoe Company worker, the owner and operator of "Sew and Sew" fabric store, and is the co-founder of G&W Heel Lift (chiropractic supplies) along with her husband, daughter and son-in law.
- Sen. Barnitz presenting a resolution to Zach Summers, who interned in the office this session. Summers is a University of Missouri student studying political science.
- Sen. Barnitz with Peter Hofherr, who was nominated to the Missouri Wine and Grape Board. A resident of St. James, Hofherr is the CEO of St. James Winery.

- Fourth graders from Visitation Inter-Parish School in Vienna joined by their teacher Connie Gildehaus.
- Sen. Barnitz presents a Senate resolution to Kay McMurtrey, Superintendent of Phelps County R-III School District in Edgar Springs, for earning the Missouri K-8 Schools Association Administrator of the Year award.
- On April 15th, a group of students from Waynesville High School who scored highest of the Missouri Constitution Test visited with Sen. Barnitz. They were joined by their teachers Gary Young and Tim Belshe.
- On April 15th, 4th graders from Maries County R-I in Vienna visited with their teacher Teresa Messersmith.

- Joyce Lenox, a personal friend of Sen. Barnitz's from Rolla, joined by her daughter Angela Mallery and grand-daughters Jessica, Kate, Savannah, and Mallery.

- On April 1st, 4th graders from Maries County R-II in Belle visited with their teacher Rachel Wilber.
- Sen. Barnitz presenting a Senate Resolution to Senate door keeper Clem Krieg of Rich Fountain. Clem worked for 13 years as a doorkeeper in the Senate Chamber.
- More than 30 Embarq employees came to the Capitol for "Embarq Day at the Capitol." Employees from Rolla and Warrensburg were included in the group.
- Jack Bate, who's drawing was chosen to be featured in the Capitol Rotunda for the 2009 Missouri Art Education Association Youth Art Month event at the Capitol.
- The Linn Wildcats Jazz Band with Sen. Barnitz and Band Director Higgins. The group played on the Capitol stairs to promote the arts.

- Chantel Garrison, R.N.; Daniel Hood, EMT-P; and George LaJoie of Salem visited the Capitol and spoke to Sen. Barnitz about the Air Evac Lifeteam, an organization that works to provide access to helicopter air ambulance service in rural communities.

- Sen. Barnitz with his job shadow for the day Julia Witthaus of Hermann, daughter of Michael and Denise Witthaus. She is a sophomore at Hermann High School and spent the day with the senator as he met with constituents and heard testimony in committee.

- Retired teachers and members of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association from the district visited to meet with Sen. Barnitz. They included Myra Dingman, Gloria Baum, Susan J. Bates, Cathy Paulsmeyer, Carol Bennett, Betty Green, Ron and Candy Kitchen, and John and Carolyn Taylor.
- Erica Westenberg and her parents Yuli and Dave visit from Rolla for Citizen’s Day sponsored by Missouri Citizens for the Arts. Erica is a member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra.
- Julie Peterman, a counselor at Wyman Elementary received a resolution from Sen. Barnitz in honor of the school counselors of Rolla public schools. The group hosted National School Counseling Week activities from Feb. 2-6.
- A group from Missouri Southern State University’s distance learning campus (dental hygiene program) in Rolla visit the Capitol. Sen. Barnitz spoke to them on Dental Hygiene Lobby Day. - Jes and Ellie Griesbauer, the daughters of Dennis and Cathy of Montgomery City stopped by Sen. Barnitz’s office to say “hi”. The two were able to tour the top of the Capitol dome and see the Whispering Gallery.

- Sen. Barnitz with Dr. John Hagler, the new director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Hagler grew up in rural Dent County and operates a small farm near St. James.
- Sen. Barnitz presents a resolution to Terry and Connie Douglas of Douglas Manufacturing and Mick Gilliam of the University of Missouri Extension in Rolla. Douglas Manufaturing received the 2009 Business Development Program Rising Star for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award from the Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Centers.
- Rebecca L. McClain and Deborah R. Baker from the Pulaski County Health Department’s Healthy and Active Communities visit the Capitol for the Missouri Foundation of Health “Day at the Capitol”.
- Realtors from the 16th District visited the Capitol for Realtors Day. In the photo are realtors from Dent and Phelps county. Sen. Barnitz met with numerous other groups of realtors that day and attended the Missouri Association of Realtors’ reception.
- A class from Maranatha Baptist Academy in St. Robert took a field trip to Jefferson City to learn about state government. The class visited with Sen. Barnitz on the Senate floor and learned about the rules of the Senate.
